Footwear is another critical component. We prescribe diabetic shoes covered by Medicare and most insurance plans, along with custom diabetic insoles that protect against pressure points and reduce the risk of ulceration. For patients with foot deformities or a history of ulcers, we may recommend custom orthotics, bracing, or specialized shoes built specifically for their unique feet.

When problems arise, prompt treatment is essential. We provide aggressive wound care, debridement, infection management, and offloading strategies to give wounds the best chance to heal.
