With decades of experience in podiatric surgery, Dr. Smaldino specializes in advanced surgical techniques and trauma care. He is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to every patient.

Specialties

Reconstructive Foot Surgery: Dr. Smaldino completed a residency in reconstructive foot surgery. He specializes in foot surgery for all ages, with an emphasis on athletic injuries and reconstructive surgery.
Sports Medicine: Dr. Smaldino competed in high school athletics and went on to Youngstown State University to become a certified athletic trainer. After college, he was head athletic trainer for Boardman High School before attending medical school. Through podiatry, Dr. Smaldino continues his passion for assisting athletes in returning to their chosen sports as quickly as possible.
Wound Care: Dr. Smaldino specializes in comprehensive wound care for patients that have chronic wounds like ulcers, sores or burns. Treatment is offered for all aspects of hard-to-heal wounds resulting from conditions such as diabetes or lymphedema. Leading-edge treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy are available.
